Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the US. Ashford is an actress, singer and dancer. In her early Broadway performances, she starred her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. For her role as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she won the Tony Award. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford has spent the majority of her career collaborating with acclaimed actors and directors in stage film and television and she will continue that collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford is scheduled to be as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani in the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford's upcoming project includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film will be available through Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford is set to return in 2023 and will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who produced Hamilton, will direct the musical. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal that was involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. In two seasons, Ashford was a star of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it included Ben Vereen as well as Hector Elizondo. She has also performed in Broadway on Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as the original part as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and now divides the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
